As we look toward 2026, the Inland Empire Wing is preparing for an exciting year. Both for our Wing and for the USA.
In 2026, the United States will celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary, marking 250 years since the founding of our nation. This milestone offers a unique opportunity for the Inland Empire Wing to honor the history of freedom, service, and sacrifice in a way that aligns with our mission and who we are as an organization.
As I step into the role of Wing Leader beginning January 1, 2026, I’m excited to help guide the Wing through this special year. Having been a member since 2018 and actively involved in staff and operations, I know that our members will step up and make this year special.
America 250 at IEW : Early Ideas
We’ve begun developing initial ideas for how the Wing might commemorate America’s 250th Anniversary throughout 2026. These ideas are intended as a starting point and include:
- America 250 – themed events and programs throughout the year
- Commemorative flight experiences connecting our aircraft to the broader American history
- Living history and educational exhibits inside the hangar
- Veteran recognition and storytelling initiatives
- Youth and education-focused activities to inspire the next generation
- Expanded opportunities for members to participate in planning, outreach, and execution
I will be presenting these early ideas to our staff at the January 7 staff meeting, but it’s important to emphasize that this is meant to be a Wing-wide effort.
We Want Your Ideas
I want the entire Wing involved in shaping how we recognize the anniversary. If you have ideas, big or small, on how we can celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary, preserve history, engage our community, or inspire future generations, I would love to hear from you.
Please feel free to call or email me directly with your thoughts. Your input will help guide what 2026 looks like for the Inland Empire Wing.
In addition to America 250 planning, 2026 will continue to be a busy operational year with aircraft operations, airshows, hangar days, member events, and community outreach. None of this happens without our dedicated volunteers and members, and I’m thankful for the commitment from so many of you.
I’m excited about the year ahead and proud to work alongside all of you as we prepare for this historic milestone. Together, we can make 2026 a memorable and meaningful year for our Wing.
