As the year comes to a close, the staff would like to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who helped make this past year such a success for the Inland Empire Wing.
From our dedicated volunteers and flight crews to our staff, members, supporters, and families; your time, energy, and commitment are what keep this Wing moving forward. A special thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to the success of our Christmas Lights Flights. We flew over 262 guests this season with all our flights sold out on the last weekend of flying. The long hours, and teamwork behind the scenes created memories for our guests and a way to share our D-Day Doll and our mission with the community.
None of this happens without you.
As we look ahead, we are especially excited about helping our new members become more involved in the Wing while also providing opportunities for our returning members to expand and deepen their involvement. The strength of our Wing has always been built on participation, camaraderie, and shared purpose, and we want to create even more ways for members to take part.
To support this growth, we are in the process of creating new boards and opportunities for members to serve, including a new Event Planning Board. This board will focus on developing engaging activities for our membership, including member-focused events, fly-outs, and lunch flights using both Wing aircraft and member-owned aircraft. These events are intended to build fellowship, encourage flying, and strengthen our friendships.
We are proud of what we accomplished together this past year, and we are even more excited about what lies ahead. As we move into the new year, we’re planning another fun, busy, and impactful year, continuing to fly, educate, honor history, and support the mission of the Commemorative Air Force. to honor the past, educate the future, and preserve these historic aircraft in flying condition.
